FutureQuals proudly supports Emergency Services Day 2026
FutureQuals joins organisations and communities across the UK in recognising Emergency Services Day, also known as 999 Day, and thanking everyone who works and volunteers across our emergency services and the NHS.
Held annually on 9 September, 999 Day provides a national opportunity to recognise the professionalism, dedication and service of those who protect, care for and support communities throughout the UK. The day also remembers emergency services personnel who have lost their lives as a result of their service.
From frontline responders and control room teams to healthcare professionals, educators, assessors, volunteers and support colleagues, every individual has an important part to play in keeping communities safe.
Recognising service and professionalism
Those working and volunteering across the emergency services and NHS regularly provide help at times of greatest need. Their work requires professional competence, sound judgement, resilience and an unwavering commitment to the people and communities they serve.999 Day recognises six principal areas of emergency service: police, fire and rescue, ambulance, the NHS, maritime services, and search and rescue. It also promotes career and volunteering opportunities, responsible use of the emergency services, essential life-saving skills, emergency services charities and closer engagement between services and their communities.
Supporting skills across pre-hospital care and emergency response
At FutureQuals, we are proud to work with Learners, Centres, employers and sector professionals across pre-hospital care, emergency response and ambulance driving.
High-quality education, assessment and continuing professional development help ensure that people entering or progressing within these sectors have the knowledge, practical capability and confidence required to perform their roles effectively.

We also recognise the important contribution of those behind the scenes, including trainers, educators, assessors, administrators, maintenance teams, charity workers, community responders and the families who support emergency services personnel.
Today, we remember those who have lost their lives through their service. We recognise those who continue to serve. We celebrate those preparing for a career dedicated to helping others.
