Programme Overview
The FAQ Emergency Response Ambulance Driving Recurrency Programme (CPD programme*) is designed to support emergency response ambulance drivers who:
- Require ongoing training to ensure competency
- Have had a period of inactivity
or
- Have had a concern identified regarding their driving skills
The programme offers a tailored approach to help Candidates regain confidence, refresh their knowledge and skills, and maintain the highest standards of emergency response driving. In addition, the programme emphasises the importance of consistently demonstrating the correct professional behaviours.
To be eligible for registration, Candidates must hold the FAQ Level 3 Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving (RQF)/Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving at SCQF Level 6 or an agreed equivalent.
Centres approved to deliver the FAQ Level 3 Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving (RQF)/Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving at SCQF Level 6 will be granted automatic approval for the FAQ Emergency Response Ambulance Driving Recurrency Programme.
* This programme is not a regulated qualification.
