Member of the Governing Body

Summary of the role

Non-Executive member of the Governing Body of FutureQuals

Future Awards and Qualifications Ltd (FutureQuals) is a regulated awarding organisation offering a wide range of qualifications aimed primarily at the care and health sectors.

Our Values

“We are a Visionary, Supportive, Innovative and Professional Awarding Organisation that is committed to excellence”.

Our Vision

“We envisage a place in which every learner realises their full potential”

Our Mission

“To provide respected and valued qualifications and assessment to enable quality assured learning”

FutureQuals has a close working relationship with the Ambulance Service and offers many qualifications specific to their employees and also offers a number of apprenticeships. A full list of FutureQuals current qualifications can be accessed at http://www.futurequals.com.

We have developed a genuine understanding and insight into all types of educational organisations, which ensures that we are highly responsive to their needs. We offer a wide range of benefits and support for our learners, our approved centres, and their assessment and quality assurance teams.

FutureQuals has grown considerably in the last few years so now feels that it is the right time to strengthen its Governing Body, the group, separate from the Board of the commercial organisation, remitted to ensure that FutureQuals maintains the systems, resources and expertise that allow the organisation to maintain both the standards of its qualifications and assessments and its continued regulatory compliance. FutureQuals has recently started to offer End Point Assessment for apprenticeships so the Governing Body feels that it would benefit from having a member who is an education specialist with particular experience in assessment within apprenticeships.

This post is not remunerated but attracts an honorarium of £250 per meeting plus reasonable expenses for travel to FutureQuals, which is based in Coalville, Leicestershire, where the quarterly meetings will be held.

How to apply

If you are looking for a challenging opportunity to offer your expertise and experience to help a growing awarding organisation to reach its full potential, please submit a written expression of interest covering your experience, areas of expertise and what you think you could bring to this role to Sue McGlynn, the Chair of the Governing Body, at sue.mcglynn@futurequals.com by 30 September 2018.
