Qualification Overview
The purpose of the FAQ Level 3 Diploma in the Principles of Aviation Operations Control (RQF) is to provide Learners with the knowledge and understanding required to support safe, compliant and efficient airline operations within an operations control centre (OCC). It clarifies the regulatory meaning of operational control, related responsibilities and decision-making, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Learners build foundations across air law and operations manuals, flight planning, navigation and NOTAMs, meteorology, mass and balance and aircraft performance, air traffic services with ATFCM and slot coordination, disruption and emergency response, safety management (SMS), security management (SeMS) and dangerous goods awareness, and crewing considerations such as FTL/FRM.
This qualification does not confer any form of professional licence or certification. All activities must be performed within the individual’s competence and the organisation’s approved procedures and governance.
