Instructing the Instructors

A big congratulations to those who completed the second and final stage of our National Principal Assessor (NPA) programme for Emergency Response Ambulance Driving (ERAD) this week.

The NPA demands an exceptionally high level of skills to ‘train the trainers’ and each year only a very small number of ambulance driving assessors from NHS trusts and private ambulance providers are nominated.

Those successful included Dan Brady, Lee Floyd, Stuart Malbott, Steven Williams and Gregory Radley (Level 5), and David Hallinon and Jim Hipperson (Level 7), from NHS Ambulance Trusts across the country plus private providers Elite ADT and Emstar.

FutureQuals were delighted to host the NPA this year from our head office in Coalville, and watch the next generation of instructor instructors complete their training. The programme has four phases, including driver training, classroom teaching and exams, culminating in final assessments on the road today.

Our NPA programme demands the highest quality and only the best of the best make it onto the course. The importance of the NPA role cannot be underestimated, as they act as a gatekeeper of quality and high standards within driver education. So it’s wonderful to see five more NPA’s join the small roster of those qualified to train ambulance driving instructors.
